St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on 17 March. 1ESO and 2ESO Bilingual students were lucky enough to have
Denise in class. She's our Language Assistant and she taught us a lot about St. Patrick's
Day. We talked about the traditions, the activities that are usually done and the parades.
We learned that it is celebrated all over the world and we even watched a video where we
saw how they dyed the Chicago River green!
It was great learning new vocabulary and new traditions. Seeing how green colorant is
used in Irish cuisine was amazing because we had never seen green eggs, green pasta or
green bread! The best part of the class was when we played a game to see which of us
were more Irish and remembered more about what we had learned about St. Patrick's Day.
We all did our best and we felt we all won the friendly competition.
We thought the best part was the game but… Can you believe that we did some traditional
Irish dancing? Moving our feet to the beat of Irish music was super fun. We were very
excited about St. Patrick’s Day and we could not stop saying how much we love Ireland!
