eTwinning project on EARTH DAY

The celebration of  "EARTH DAY" is an opportunity to stop and reflect on the importance that  planet Earth has for each of us. Starting from the students' results of their ecological footprint (by means of the carbon footprint calculator tool), they reflected and expressed their apprecition of the various subystems that make up planet Earth (biosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere).

The students from 2A and 2B placed two dry trees which stayed for some days at the school hall. They also built some paper leaves with a sentence showing the importance that each of the subsystems had for them. Finally, they dressed the dry trees up with their colourful paper leaves. 

Here are the students' ideas on the topic.

"My students were really impressed when they heard about the number of planets Earth we would need, 4.1, if everybody produced the same carbon footprint as we do, 7.5t. That is a lot of damage to the world. This means that we are consuming and wasting resources at a rate that exceeds what the Earth can sustainably provide. This is a reflection of our unsustainable way of life and a desperate need to find a solution. Our planet's health and well-being will be severely compromised if we continue consuming, wasting and contaminating as we are doing at the moment. We must use more renewable energy and follow the rule of the three Rs: Recycle, Reuse and Reduce. If do not all collaborate now, future generations will not enjoy a proper life."

MUSIC AND ENGLISH PROJECT

MY FAVOURITE VOICE 

This is a project carried out by the bilingual students from 2° ESO. Students had to work in pairs and choose an English-speaking singer.They had to present  a voice they liked in front of their mates, they had to talk about the artist's musical career, to make a technical classification of the chosen voice and select one of his/hers songs to create a QR code. The most important info of this presentation was displayed on a cardboard, adding a picture of the artist and the selected song QR. They had to show respect for each other's musical taste, and their teamwork was also taken into account.
